Detroit 187

This TV series is filmed on the streets of Detroit. Gritty and it gets it right most of the time. Christapha is sensational.

I have to go carve a pumpkin, visit my Dad, and see a documentary about burlesque. What a menu. Have a good one.

I haven't seen it. But I will say that even though the plots of BLUE BLOODS may be a little farfetched, it is filmed in New York. The subways are real as are the stations, and Tom Selleck's house is right here in Bay Ridge. If you saw the show where he and his son were fishing, it was filmed on the 69 Street Pier, just a mile from us, although it must have been pretty early in the morning to be that empty.

In fact, we'll give you a Bay Ridge movie tour when you come to Brooklyn.

I've enjoyed the show so far and the mentioned Blue Bloods as well.

Hi Patti,

Thanks for bringing this up. I kept meaning to ask you if the show represented Detroit.

I don't watch much tv (no time!!)but I do DVR everything, so I did see one episode of Detroit 187 and one of Blue Bloods. With suspended disbelief I enjoyed both.

Jeff, I hope that Blue Bloods remains true to filming in NYC,that is what gives it the flavor I like.

It is really Detroit and it scares the pants off of me that I pass most of these sites on a regular basis.
Jeff-looks like we may have a free place on Eastern Parkway at the sub entrance for two weeks in March.

Very gritty looking.

The only inherent goofiness is the use of the LA Police "187" code for homicide, iirc...which has become street slang, but not, I suspect, in Detroit.

With all the tagging going on, they must.

I LOVE IT! My only wish is that it was on cable, so they wouldn't have to sleep anything out. Have bene "taping" it so as to speed through the ads . . .

Me, too Erik. Thank God for the DVR. Can't stand to watch the commericials now that there are so many.
