This reminds me that the mid-60s and early 70s were the saddest years of my life, but only after the most joyous beginnings. This and the music from A Summer Place, below, evoked feelings I can't describe here. Add Moon River to this, and you have a trip down memory lane for me.
A classic tune - have you ever listened to the title track by Stelvio Cipriani from ANONIMO VENEZIANO, another popular European weepie, starring Tony Musante? The music is very similar but the two films came out very close to each other, so I don't think anybody decided to sue (good job it wasn't the Gaye estate) - you can listen to it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izPiqPWyJh0
PS sincere apologies - I got it mixed up with another Francis Lai score, the one for LOVE STORY, which is really close to ANONIMO VENEZIANO (and vice versa).
Patricia Abbott is the author of more than 125 stories that have appeared online, in print journals and in various anthologies. SHOT IN DETROIT was nominated for an Edgar Award and an Anthony Award in 2017. A collection of her stories I BRING SORROW AND OTHER STORIES OF TRANSGRESSION will appear in 2018.
She also authored two ebooks, MONKEY JUSTICE and HOME INVASION and co-edited DISCOUNT NOIR. She won a Derringer award for her story "My Hero." She lives outside Detroit.

I haven't heard this is decades. Thanks.
This was our time. The music in movies was spectacular.

Now, that's a classic sixties film if there ever was one!
There are a lot of similarities between pieces of music from that era. I tried to listen but it was blocked.
