Wonderful. As an amateur trombonist I can testify that it is in fact impossible to sound like Sam Nanton. Or rather, it's done by a combination of growl technique and plunger work that is virtually impossible to imitate by mere mortals.
And not to be a snob, but I prefer the the 1932 original. It has such an appealing simplicity about it and Ivie Anderson was by far the best vocalist Ellington ever had.
