In Joan Didion's BLUE NIGHTS, she writes about all the things she had to give up in concession to aging (four-inch heels, beaded jackets, leggings) and describes herself as being heartened to discover that Sophia Loren was born the same year as she was and appears to be making no adjustments to aging! Love that passage--and love Sophia too.
BTW, if this is going to be a regular feature, please don't forget my favorite beautiful women of the silver screen: Ava Gardner, Rita Hayworth, and Ann Sheridan. (Some handsome men of the silver screen would be nice too.)

Didion is so tiny it's a wonder she could ever wear a beaded jacket without falling over backwards.
Ah, to age well.
