For Those Who Say Kids Don't Read

I'll be following her. And isn't it a shame, her local and school library didn't own THE MAGNIFICENT AMBERSONS. I bet mine doesn't either. YES IT DOES.

Project Gutenberg to the rescue.

And my library owns both the book (although in large print) and the movie. Hurray!

The Brooklyn Public Library has three different editions including the Modern Library and the U of Indiana Press edition, plus the movie version. I've seen it but never read it.

Some kids do read! In Arizona my sister was saying she can't even keep up with how much her daughter Blythe (13) reads. We recently sent her the HUNGER GAMES trilogy. She's already read all the Harry Potters and Rick Riordan's two series for kids, among many others.

Seems to be more a girl thing than a boy.

Same here: my two daughter (9 and 11) read more than I do these days.

Patti - I love it! So nice to see that there are plenty of young readers out there.
