The Summing Up, Friday, January 23, 2009

Frank O'Hara reading.

As we enter our tenth month of Forgotten Books, I'd like to urge those who did a review long ago to come back and do another one. I'm sure you've thought of a book no one has talked about. Come on. You know you want to.

Also, to those who contribute almost every week. Is this becoming too much of a burden? Let me know.

How do ya like the Universal Baseball Association? Coover is one of the great American postmodern unheralded writers.

Actually, Coover gets pretty good press all around. But not enough, no, not since THE PUBLIC BURNING, at least.

No, it's definitely not Forgotten Books that's the burden, Patti...it's a whole lot else. I really need to revise.

FORGOTTEN BOOKS is one of the highlights of my week. I enjoy recommending books that I hope others will enjoy. And I like discovering books I should be reading that others recommend.

Far from being a burden Patti, I love it. Research and writing a post on a forgotten book is, as George says, a highlight of the week

I love UBA, but I have to admit that was the only Coover I got through. I am too much a literalist for postmodern writing.
That's great, George & Kerrie. We'll keep plowing along as long as people keep writing them.
Tribe-do one soon. I'd love to see your choice.

Patti, Nope, not a burden at all. And I enjoy reading all the reviews.

Actually, you can count me in for next Friday. I've missed doing a FFB post. I love that trip down memory lane!

I will do another review, but a bit later say in March as I have other writing commitments and to read the 1200 page book for the review.
