My Life at the Theater: A Hard Heart

I saw this at the Clurman Theater in New York in 2007. I can think of few plays I liked less than this one. It was cynical without being interesting. Opaque and yet preachy at the same time. I'll leave it at that. I can't think why we chose it. Maybe the tickets were free?

Sounds good.

Just kidding. I can't remember ever hearing of this one. I found one review: Kathleen Chalfant is one of the glories of the American stage. However, even she can’t save Howard Barker’s 1992 political allegory, A Hard Heart, from seeming tiresomely long, endlessly preachy and extremely repetitious. At half its length the play would be more effective.

Been very long since I've seen a play.
