I'd LOVE to attend, but, um, Portland seems to be missing from the list. The west coast part of the tour seems to only be L.A. and the bay area. Pfui.

That's okay, I guess, my copy will be in the mail on publication day.

I wish, but no. Have the book on pre-order and can't wait to see this new side of Megan's work.

Will try. Book Court (#1 on the list) is managed by a former student of Jackie's, whose parents opened the store 25 years ago when he was in her second grade class!

They do a LOT of readings there, haven't been hurt at all by a Barnes & Noble opening a few blocks away ten years ago, and in fact have recently expanded.

Luckily for them, they were smart enough to buy the two buildings years ago. Otherwise, I don't know if they'd be able to afford to stay open.

I plan on attending the event here in Houston on 8 July. It's already on my calendar,

Thanks to you all. I wish you could all be here in Detroit so I could toast you.

Maybe if her parents lived in Portland, she would have been able to get that city on the list... Hint.

Sigh. Detroit is only on the list since we are here. Portland is on our list.

I'll be at the book talk, Patti. Tried to buy the book this morning but found out it's not released yet. Went through the same wait thing with Bury Me Deep; did I ever tell you my students work-shopped a short play based on Winnie Ruth Judd: Trunk Murderer?

Nope. Too far away. Even for free booze.

My copy came yesterday.

Just read the first chapter this morning. It's poetry. And gripping poetry, at that.

Thanks guys. It will scare you. I'm reading the next one DARE ME about cheerleaders. Although not the ones I knew circa 1965,
