Rao's in Harlem

Megan wrote a piece on her work place, this restaurant, and the mob in East Harlem for the New York Times.

Wow! What an insightful piece! The NY TIMES was lucky Megan chose them to publish it! All of a sudden, I have a craving for Italian food with onions and garlic.

Is it true Pizza Junction is closing? What a shame. Thanks, George.

I read that earlier after Abbott, Jr. listed it on the twitter. Interesting how memories and fears travel through generations.

PIZZA JUNCTION closed at midnight January 1, 2012. It's supposed to re-open on March 1 under "new management."

Great piece, but it would be a lot easier to get a table at Rao's in Las Vegas (Caesars Palace) than the tiny East Harlem original, unless you know someone or are famous yourself.

George, Jackie says the Pizza Junction news is a huge relief!

Ooh, I love Rao's arrabiata sauce. Too bad I can't afford it often.

Interesting article; I never knew anything about Rao's history.

Garard- nature or nuture.
I had never heard of Raos' before. I will have to look for these sauces. Someone recommended their recipe for a chicken dish too.

A jar of Rao's sauce runs about $8, Patti. We generally get the Barilla tomato basil for $3.

Wonderful piece! Megan is SUCH a good writer. I'd not heard of Rao's before either.

Hope you're feeling better.

George, how will you survive until March 1, and will Pizza Junction be as good?
