There is a interesting documentary called The Devil and Daniel Johnston. It used to show up on IFC or Sundance quite often.

Don't know anything about him. And I had trouble finding a clip that wasn't this one from FNL.

He's suffered from schizophrenia and depression his whole life. Lives I belive in Austin and has had some of his songs recorded by other artists who have tried to support him.

The 80's/90's band The Groovie Ghoulies did a couple of great versions of this song that I have always thought were better than the original...
