This is just one of mine, of course. What is one of yours?

When it comes to romance songs, it's big and over-the-top for Miss Deb: Andrea Bocelli's Con Te Partiro (Time to Say Goodbye), Benny Mardones's Into the Night, Barry Manilow's Weekend in New England. Lush with lots of strings... That's the ticket!
I have not thought of Lou Rawls in years. Marvin Gaye can make you knees weak. Bocelli is amazing, even if they say he is not really an opera singer. I ADORE DANCE ME TO THE END OF TIME,. Sinatra can make anything sound romantic. I almost put FUNNY VALENTINE Up. I play it often. At Last can bring me to tears. Great choices.
Angel Eyes--Jesse Belvin. Jesse had a huge doo wop hit called "Goodnight My Love" that was used as the last song of the night at record hops and teen dances everywhere in the late 50's. But lo and behold, Jesse could croon a ballad with the best of them--Joe Williams, Billy Eckstine, Tony Bennett et al. Around 1961 he released an album of classic swing era ballads and jump tunes called "Mr. Easy", with much of Sinatra's studio orch. His "Angel Eyes", along with "What's New?" are two of the best versions of those beautiful songs ever done. Then he died in a car wreck. Type in 'Jesse Belvin--Mr. Easy' at Youtube. TWB
pattinase: Late addition here. To me "The Way You Look Tonight" by Jerome Kerns and Dorothy Fields is the most romantic. My 2nd favorite is Bobby Goldsboro's "Summer The First Time." A young man's fantasy. I would send the link, but I don't know how yet. Yours truly, Toe.
I enjoy listening to "You Were Always on My Mind" by Elvis, "Forever and Ever" by Engelbert, "I Want to Know What Love is" by Foreigner, and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by Jefferson Starship.
