The only internationally-famous band who've attempted, drunkenly, to call my then-teenaged brother at my family's home (he'd sent them some artwork they liked) only to awaken our parents (at 2am-ish).
My father was not so very starstruck to be speaking with them at that hour, in his semi-conscious state. Pity I didn't still live there...I would've chatted with a drunken Kim Deal with little reservation, and made for a slightly better interchange.

Wait a minute. Is this a cross post from abbotgran.wordpress?
Great song, but I find myself more drawn to their later material. "Letter to Memphis," "Velouria," and "Alec Eiffel" are some of my favorites.
Now you're talkin' my language. Doolittle is an almost perfect album.
If Doolittle is almost perfect, than means Trompe Le Monde and Bossanova are perfect. Yup -- thems fightin' words!
I aim to be eclectic. Actually their current tour reminded me of them.
