The Galleys Are In.

I guess this is going to happen. I will probably ask all of you who read this blog to help me get the word out via a blog tour. I do not need any ego boosting and have no dreams of grandeur, but I want to make Jason Pinter proud (or at least not regretful) he decided to take a chance on an old lady writing a novel.

The book comes out in June. Any advice is welcomed. I would categorize this as domestic suspense. Sort of like MILDRED PIERCE reversed (and written by someone with a lot less talent than James Cain). Phil says I am incapable of saying anything good about myself and I see that is true as I struggle here. Anyway, you get the drift.

I look forward to being among the first to read your new novel. Congratulations!

And, though it might not add up to many sales and readers, I will be pleased to feature your book on my blog. Let me know how I can help.

Postscript: What I meant by the foregoing was this -- My blog has few readers, so anything I say might not reach many people and might not lead to very much for you, but I am willing to showcase your new novel in any way that you see fit.

yes, the day of the blog is over, I think. Facebook seems to be the place to be. I used to get hundreds of hits a day but not any more. And thanks for your kind offers. Probably right around the time the book comes out in June.

Well, Facebook is not the place to be for me. But I can see how an author (ahem) would absolutely need to go there.

Anyway, congratulations and you know I will be right there buying the book as soon as it is out.

PS - Phil is right.

I'll be happy to host you as well, though I haven't ever played that role yet.

I hope blogs aren't really over, because I am not planning on being on Facebook.

Oh, Patti, this is great!!!!!! I'll be happy to help you spread the word, too.

Congratulations, Patti. The blog will definitely be yours for at least a day as the release approaches. I'll be in touch.

I think the time of the blog for a certain audience is over, yes. But for book people, I think blogs still matter, the trick is getting information and reviews on as many as possible over a six month period, so it seems the book is popping up everywhere. That gets it buzz, I think. I know I'll be featuring it on Tip the Wink, and also do a follow-up as soon as I can read it. I've also requested the library to buy it so there might be some extra sales that way.

Oh, thanks! I might try to get my library to buy it too. Sort of cool to be next to Megan on a shelf. Darn no, Jeff Abbott would come between us.
It will be a challenge to think of different things to say though across multiple blogs. Need to ask Dana or someone how they managed it.

I'd be happy to come up with some questions for my blog, which should make it at least a little different.

Thanks, Seana. I would welcome that. It hasn't even started and I am sick of myself already.

I completely understand, but other people aren't, so don't worry about it.

Congratulations, Patti! Whatever I can do to help, just let me know.

Jeff Abbott will not come between you and Megan because J is before M! And in our library system they shelve by author last name and then by title, not by author's first name. CONCRETE ANGEL is going to be very close to BURY YOUR DEAD or DARE ME if not right next to each other. :^D

I will be proud to help you promote the book. I'm eager to sink my eyes and soul into CONCRETE ANGEL.
