Miami Blues, Charles Willeford (from the archives)
Miami Blues could have been written yesterday by any of a bunch of current writers, except Willeford is better, making it impossible to put down. It's funny, scary and quick.Hoke Mosley is a compelling character and Miami never looked better (or worse). The movie doesn't do it justice.
AFTER THIS I WENT ON TO READ ALL OF THE HOKE MOSLEY NOVELS AND LOVED THEM ALL,.

I loved the Hoke Moseley series too. It's a shame he died just when he was finally getting the acclaim his work deserved. I liked Fred Ward in the movie, but then I like him in most things.
Always good, isn't he. I thought Baldwin was a bad fit.
Another rerun is posted over at Pretty Sinister Books:
The Coordinator by Andrew York

Enjoy your time off, Patti. I hope the holidays will be super for both you and yours.
Thanks for including my post here, and have a great holiday break. I plan to have a post for Richard Prather week. I have never read Richard Prather either, but have several on the TBR shelves that are being considered.
Off to visit family for Christmas and New Year's, dear Patti. I'll be away for a few weeks. MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and yours. God bless.
