TV SHOWS I MISS
I am expecting some nay-sayers on this one but I loved it. Yes, they were spoiled rich kids but so are the characters on most shows. Sometimes I wonder if Hollywood realizes just what the typical viewer house is like. Certainly not like the houses on MODERN FAMILY. Not like the houses on BLOOD LINES. Only on comedies do we get a working class house.

You know where you see working-class homes today? On TLC shows like. "My 600-Pound Life" or on law-and-order shows like "COPS". It's sad, but the only time we see those kind of homes is when we 're seeing the morbidly obese or the criminal. I'm sure there's a dissertation to be written on media portrayals of lower-income Americans.
/I have yet to see a relatively well-off individual profiled on "My 600-Pound Life."
Jackie liked it too. I thought they were whiny and self-obsessed. I still remember when Hope's father (?) died and she whined about how "unfair" it was that they had to deal with real issues like that.
My favorite character was the odious Miles Drentell.

Another one I never watched.
So, Patti--how did you like my pet ONCE AND AGAIN (which revived Miles).
That's coming up next week.
Drentell, or the actor who played him, turned up for a while. But I haven't seen him lately.
You do see the "rest of us" on shows like Mom. We're just not glamorous enough for drama.
TV executive like to portray the average American working class with programs like FULL HOUSE (which is coming back in a new incarnation). Realism seems to be absent in their program decisions.
Patti, David Clennon - who played Miles - was on Season Two of HOUSE OF CARDS.

I don't recognize what that show is
I never watched it. Have you seen The Middle?
Oh, I remember that show! Haven't thought about it in forever.
I think THE MIDDLE is a vastly underrated show. I don't watch it every week or even that often but when I do I always find sharp writing and good characters.
