We saw the Ailey troupe do this for the first time in 15 years this past Christmas Eve and it wss still great. (Another benefit of living in New York.)

They come here every year along with most of the major dance companies. The place was jammed with people that applauded their every jump. Don't know how they kept their focus. Audiences need to be told that dancers are not circus performers.

Well, hell. Might as well get people to stop applauding every solo in a jazz performance, even if the next soloist is trying to launch immediately from where the previous soloist ended.
