Four Favorites

I keep track of the movies I see on the Letterbxd website. Right now if you type Four Favorites into you tube's search engine you will see dozens of answers from Letterboxd users. The diversity of answers is not surprising given the number of films to choose from (about 10,000)

My four favorite films (this week, at least) are THE APARTMENT, DO THE RIGHT THING, ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN and BRINGING UP BABY.

What are you FOUR favorites?

In most moods, I might gravitate toward a list including HIS GIRL FRIDAY, CAT PEOPLE (original), ONIBABA, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND...or IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT, WOMAN IN THE DUNES, OPEN CITY, DR. STRANGELOVE...or...

You can only choose four. That's the challenge.
George, I have only seen A FISH.

Well, then, tonight it will be THE DEVIL'S EYE (Bergman comedy), THE LAST WAVE, ODD MAN OUT and THE CANDIDATE.

PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK, BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA, THE PRODUCERS, and the original THE MANCHUIAN CANDIDATE.

Let me go a little further and name my four favorite (at the moment) television shows: ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE, OUR MISS BROOKS, the Jim Hutton ELLERY QUEEN, and Boris Karloff's THRILLER.

I can't imagine anyone caring what Adam Sandler's four favorites are (HAPPY GILMORE, perhaps?), but his was the first face I saw when I did as you suggest. No, I don't care what some Hollywood actor's favorites are.

CASABLANCA
TWO FOR THE ROAD
GHE GODFATHER, PART II (though I prefer the chronological version of I & II)
RIO BRAVO

Great choices. I have never seen THE DEVIL'S EYE. Four is hard, isn't it? I thought I should have a more recent movie but there just wasn't one.

Today it's Monty Python and the Holy Grail, GODFATHER II, REAR WINDOW and RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK.

Any list request of this kind brings up dozens for me. Maybe, say, four soda flavors is easier. (Only a little.) Cheating seems more honest.

Films we admire tend to get watched repeatedly, helping to put newer additions at a disadvantage!

TV series (Jerry's quartet is superb): HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREETS, ONCE AND AGAIN, SCTV, NIGHT MUSIC/SUNDAY NIGHT...or...

TV SHOWS: MAD MEN, SUCCESSION, THE WIRE, DARE ME.

REAR WINDOW is right up there.
