I love Cat Stevens. And his newer songs as Yusuf Islam.
I grew up with Teaser and the Firecat, Tea for the Tillerman, and other albums around.
And while I can't say I understand what made him convert to Islam and shun singing for so long, being an atheist... I can see how he would want to flee the materialistic world. I'm glad he is singing again, and I enjoyed his new albums as well.

There was a time I remember his music being everywhere and that must mean I remember the 1970s. A world away for sure.

Gosh, has it been three years already, Kieran. Seems like yesterday.
I have some of his new stuff too. But that old Cat stays in my head.

Thanks, Patti. Cat Stevens was and continues to be so unutterably sad and vulnerable. Of course, Wild World is about himself. I can understand his ducking into the shelter of a rigid religion. Bless his heart.
