Happy Memorial Day. And a great poem to remind you of why we will always have memorial days.

My sister just retired from the military after 25 years in the Air Force. I'm so thankful she made it through a quarter of a century in uniform; I know other families have not been so fortunate--in the current wars and in ones previous. Thank you for remembering them and their fallen ones this Memorial Day.

Please extend my thanks to her for such a noble career. Yeah. my brother-in-law was ruined by Vietnam. Never recovered an died at 29.

Unfortunately, someone sent me a political cartoon, obviously with a Republican slant, that tried to make political hay out of the day by suggesting that Democrats only care about veterans today. It really created a distaste in my mouth this morning.

Hope you and Phil have a good day, Patti, in spite of that bitter memory.
