FFB-CITY OF BONES, Michael Connelly

Is there anyone whose words on the page capture police life better than Connelly? He is as patient a writer as Bosch is a cop. CITY OF BONES opens with a dog finding bones of a child who probably died about 1980. The kid's death was the last of a long line of abuses he suffered.
Bosch patiently follows leads and false leads to a good conclusion. Lots of memorable scenes and characters but Bosch is the one our eyes follow. Highly recommend.

I agree. Connelly is my #1 go to guy. And they are doing an excellent job with BOSCH on Amazon Prime.

I have a stack of Michael Connelly books waiting to be read. Maybe this summer...

TWO KINDS OF TRUTH is the book the newest season of Bosch was based on. Of course, there are differences - on the series, Bosch hasn't left the LAPD like he did in the books, and his half brother isn't in it, with Mimi Rogers essentially taking his role (which was clever) - but overall they did a very good adaptation.

I saw he's going to get the Diamond Dagger award. Of his books,, I have only read The Concrete Bland.

That's "Blond"

Connelly is currently the champ when it comes to writing about cops, but I'd say he has at least one equal--Joseph Wambaugh, who may no longer be active. Try "The Choirboys".

Actually, it's "Blonde"

I have only read two books by Michael Connelly, although I have several more in the stacks, but I love Bosch. We are watching the current season now, although we get through it slowly.

I have only read a few myself. But I love the series.

Connelly's good, but my favorite is James Ellroy. His L.A. Quartet is astounding. I should get back to him, read them again. His writing is eerily absorbing.
