Used to watch him when I was a little kid and thru mu teenage years. Of couse his facts were often wrong. Still remember the commercials with Mr. Belvedere.
The Kaiser stations were good for that. I certainly had the benefit of their CREATURE DOUBLE-FEATURE and 8 O'CLOCK MOVIE on their Boston station WKBG (though the Janus Films, pre-Criterion Collection PBS THEATER on WGBH had a higher batting average). The Lou Gordon Program, produced WKBD and seen on all the Kaiser stations (and syndicated nationally to other non-Kaiser markets) was the only truly networked show they floated, though the Kaiser stations also ran Della, Della Reese's weeknightly 90-minute chat/variety series, in 1969-70, which didn't continue due, all together now, to lack of clearance in the South.
Same Herny Kaiser responsible in part for Kaiser Permanente hmos/insurance, Kaiser Aluminum and Steel, Kaiser Motors, Kaiser Shipbuilding and the Kaiser Family Foundation.
Patricia Abbott is the author of more than 125 stories that have appeared online, in print journals and in various anthologies. SHOT IN DETROIT was nominated for an Edgar Award and an Anthony Award in 2017. A collection of her stories I BRING SORROW AND OTHER STORIES OF TRANSGRESSION will appear in 2018.
