When we were young we had New Year's Eve parties the first couple of years after we were married. The first one was great - people stayed all night. As a matter of fact, we got together the first time at a New Year's Eve party in 1966, 49 years ago tonight. We'd known each other in a group of college friends for a couple of months, but something happened that night. (And yes, as Dave Barry would say, alcohol was definitely involved.)
I remember those days but we had to sashay down the aisles at Blockbusters. Lots of bickering. This is the first year in many we will not be going to a neighborhood party. They moved to Cape Cod so we will be on our own.
Generally - unless we have a matinee in the city or a movie - we just go out for a nice lunch and then come home and watch some favorite movies. But this year we are going downtown to the Barclays Center (for the first time) for a concert we already saw in August - Jimmy Buffett and Huey Lewis & the News. I'm anticipating some surprises and there will be an appearance on Ryan Seacrest's show.
I haven't been to a New Year's party since the mid-Eighties, it just doesn't make sense with the crazies out on the roads. We used to have a bottle of champagne, or sparkling apple juice, but this year we're skipping it.I'll pick up a pizza, and we may watch A Capitol Fourth on PBS and will probably be in bed by 10:30.
No plans. First, I've been fighting a sinus infection and, despite antibiotics, my ears are blocked resulting in awful vertigo. Second, we rarely do anything NYE. My girls are going to parties, but I'll probably be asleep before midnight. My husband has a gig (he's in a Jimmy Buffett cover band), but I think that's over before midnight.
For many years my parents used to host the New Years Eve party for miles around - I think they all came for my mum's wicked punch and I do remember finding people looking a lot like those in your second picture the next morning. These days here the thing is to go big crowd-y things and I hate those so stayed home with a few friends. Happy New Year to you

I don't go to New Year;s parties. My wife and I watch a movie with our sons, if we can all agree on a film without arguing and bickering.
I told my wife to not buy any champagne. We never really like the stuff and never finish the bottle. She picked up some fancy beer instead.
Clarification: If we can all agree on a movie without my sons bickering and arguing between one another.

Happy New Year, one and all.

Happy New Year, everyone!
Deb, you can watch or listen on Radio Margaritaville and hear the real thing!
Hope you feel better. I woke up with a cold today myself.
Rick, as I'm sure George would say, you can't go wrong with pizza.
Happy New Year! I have a good feeling about 2016!
And you can't go wrong with pizza and Cinzano Asti!
Back atcha, Patti.

Happy New Year, Patti!!! And thanks for sharing those 'photos. I certainly don't have parties like that, but they do look like quite the event!
