For some reason, from the very first time I heard it over 30 years ago, I always hear Sonny & Cher singing these words to each other. Sonny telling Cher he made her what she is and Cher retaliating by saying she could make it on her own.
I remember this song. It was everywhere. Although it's kind of catchy in some ways, I generally don't care much for it. I don't imagine I listened to it all the way through more than a couple of times.
E er since they used it in a Chips Ahoy commercial Jackie calls it "the cookie song." I must admit as a geezer it is one of the few 80's songs I really like.
