In the last few years there was a L.A. Times review of one of Campbell's last appearances in L.A. with at least one of his children in the back-up band. One moment in the review described was both heartwarming and heartbreaking.
The Alzheimer hadn't then yet affected his guitar playing or singing. But he was sometimes lost between numbers.
At one point he completely forgot the song list and looked stricken. His son called out the name of the next song. The reviewer described the sweet joy of remembering on Glen's face as he swung into one of his trademark Jim Webb songs.
