Ah, the voice of Jack Jones. Back in the day you'd find his record albums filed under the ignominious category of "Easy Listening". Whatever happened to him?
I recognize the names of most of those 70s guest stars in that particular episode but who on Earth was Brenda Sykes?
I watched it, and I don't think my brain cells leached away or turned to mush. I always thought it was fun, and I watched Fantasy Island too, for the first season or two. I don't remember what this ran against in it's broadcast slot, but it must not have been anything I wanted to see.

Love, love this song. It made my Saturday nights.
Seemed like an easier time, didn't it? I think the music reminds us of that.
She was a black actress who played a lot of parts in the eighties.
Oh, I haven't thought of this show in forever!! Such a late-70's kind of show...
Gee, whatever happened to the "young Katharine Hepburn" Lauren Tewes? Cocaine. Talk about overselling!
I did not ever watch THE LOVE BOAT or FANTASY ISLAND. I felt like five minutes of either and my brain cells started leaching away.
Jeff M.
Never a real favorite of mine either. But the song is catchy. People older or younger than me at the time seemed to like it.
I actually enjoyed this show. Light funny fare. Not my usual cup of tea but I liked it.

IIRC, Lauren Tewes's husband had a serious debilitating disease and she quit show biz to care for him.
So sorry to hear that .
