David! Never? The beginnings of Clint Eastwood's career in westerns - I thought for sure you'd have seen this show. Stumbling over the lyrics was something every kid on the schoolyard did sooner or later.
I loved this show, Patti. But my favorite was not Rowdy Yates (Eastwood) but trail boss Gil Favor. (Eric Fleming) I still love that character name. I've always wondered if it were true that Fleming was killed by piranhas in South America. That was the story going around for years.
If I'm remembering rightly, the show was on Friday nights on Channel 2. Watched it every week.

I can never watch that opening without seeing Carol Kane's version of this song in "The Lemon Sisters". Still makes me smile!
Best western TV show theme song ever, IMHO.
