One afternoon we were driving home on the coast road from Biloxi, Mississippi (about an hour away). In a distance of less than 60 miles, we must have counted at least 12 Waffle Houses. In fact, there was one stretch where we saw two Waffle Houses facing each other on opposite sides of the street.

It wouldn't be the Runaway Alien Head scene, would it? When Palmer (David Clennon) says, "You gotta be f*ckin' kidding", it doesn't get any better than that. Even director John Carpenter and Kurt Russell love that one. Just saying ;-).

YAYsss! I dig!
Wow. Ain't seen that movie in a coon's age.
Really don't have it in for waitstaff this week. Just coincidental.
Patti - I haven't seen this movie in forever. Thanks for the reminder! : )
Man, he was young. I guess we all were...
It makes me want to go to Waffle House and harass the waitresses!
I was stunned by how young he looked. Waffle House-we don't have them around here. Just IHOP and the Original Pancake House. Not the same.
This is the only scene from that film I ever remember.
Me, too, Ron although my husband remembers it well.
No Waffle House here either, but we see a lot of them driving down to Florida. Haven't gone in and ordered a chicken sandwich, however.
As for the comments, we were all a lot younger then.

Love their smothered hash browns!
I have been in one in Kentucky, I believe.
My favorite scene is from "The Thing." Just saying.
