A Quick Question

Stories about angels. Anyone know of any I should read before trying one? Is there a literature that needs to be perused or pursued?

Angels...the first stories that come to mind are rather peripheral, and mostly deal with ghosts rather than angels, or, as with Henry Kuttner's "The Misguided Halo," with angels' apparatus rather than they themselves. Anne Rice has a new book about angels coming out in the fall that is the first in a series.
