If you think yesterday's pictures of Detroit were scary, wait until you see this. Boxing kangaroos scare me to death. I remember an episode of Family Ties where the entrance of a kangaroo sent me fleeing, much to my kids amusement. What seemingly innocuous object or element in a story/movie can frighten you?
With my husband, it's houses where mass murders have taken place.
I get all antsy about movies with creepy little kids. Ever since I saw "The Bad Seed" when I was a kid, these stories really get to me. It was the same with the book "The Other" (later a movie) and anything else with sociopathic/psychopathic kids.
Jumping furry demon children boxer...clearly the villain you must use.
Just kangaroos who are boxing, or All kangas? Seems like the latter. Of course, all the males, at least, I gather, box rather than do what their analogs the deer do, and bang antlers.
Nothing innocuous about it, say I, but needles. Neeles piercing skin. Can only see it for a few seconds before the conditioned response kicks in and I must look away, at least.
Oooh -- that's the other thing. Anything about demonic possession. I don't believe in it, but it scares the crap out of me anyway. I saw "The Exorcist" at the drive in when I was in high school and had to go home to an empty house and I was terrified. So the "Omen" is a double whammy. Creepy possessed little kid. Yikes!
Actually all kangaroos make me uneasy. Also any animal dressed like a human being. Needles--oh, boy. Especially on the roof of my mouth. Very nasty. Demonic possession is not nice either.
Patti: When I saw THE EXORCIST (I talked my mother into taking me by telling her it was "a religious picture about this nice priest" - it was the huge bureau in my bedroom that scared me cause in THE EXORCIST the hugge bureau goes rumbling across the room by itself.

things jumping out. that always gets me. especially since i get all tense knowing that it has to be coming... =P
Oh, yes. That too. That's why I seldom go to horror movies because they rely on that techniques so heavily.

The scariest for me was THE OMEN. Maybe I'm scared of everything?

Also rats and roaches in movies creep me out.
My scariest movie experience was Jaws. I actually had the sensation the shark might attack us on the freeway driving home.
If you hate scary things, then for god's sake don't click on this link.
Stave: see Lisa's comment. Only kidding!
