Patti, when you return perhaps you could reveiw THE BAT (1959) with Vincent Price and Agnes Moorehead and CONFLICT (1943) with Humphrey Bogart in the 'forgotton movies' strand, they really are two terrific old movies.

It's a great honor to be nominated, and you get to go have fun in NY. So HAVE FUN IN NY!! Best wishes for a win, but I really hope you both have a marvelous time. We'll be thinking of you on The Night.

If this is inappropriate, please forgive me. The world of mystery writing is fragmented and word doesn't travel. So I'm writing to tell people of the death of William Hjortsberg, author of Falling Angel, which became the De Niro film, Angel Heart. Gatz, as he was known, was my most treasured friend. He died of pancreatic cancer at age 76. He was primarily a screenwriter (Legends, for example).

Terribly sorry, Richard...I had been aware of his novels, but hadn't known about his Richard Brautigan biography till reading his obituary.
