Music That Surprised Me the First Time I Heard it.

So, you'd never heard "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" or talking blues, or was it more the notion of moving from eating cars to a diet of guitars?

Well, frankly, there are a Whole Lot of fan people who want to forget about Gil Scott-Heron when it comes to rap, and all of them have a lot more reason to hang their heads.

I was a huge fan of Blondie and of Debbie Harry's solo adventures, as well. I was more surprised that they were able to get "pain in the ass" onto the radio in "Heart of Glass" and "I'll give you some head/And shoulders to cry on" in "You Look Good in Blue" in those even more puritanical days. They're still doing some good work, in the new recombination. I just missed the Bangles on Saturday, despite having tickets, as I was slightly under the weather and Alice was moreso...they're still doing good work, too...(for varying reasons, the bassists are the alienated and now absent members of both the Bangles and the Go-Go's).

Must admit I kind of like this song.

Not Blondie's finest hour, IMHO.
