My Life at the Theater: A Few Good Men
This is from the movie, of course. I saw A FEW GOOD MEN at THE MUSIC BOX on Broadway in 1990. Phil was working on a book on V.F. Calverton and we went to New York quite often that year. We stayed at the Iroquois Hotel, which was a dump then and expensive now.
The play, by Aaron Sorkin, starred the gorgeous Megan Gallagher (what happened to her), Tom Hulce, Mark Nelson, Stephen Lang, Clark Gregg and was pretty amazing.

Megan Gallagher has been in a number of television shows, including Hill Street Blues and China Beach, plus some others I didn't watch.
I never did see this show, or the movie for that matter. I just can't stand Cruise. I do like Aaron Sorkin, however.
Jeff M.
Haven't seen her in years though. What a shame.
She took some sort of break from film and television from 2007-2010, but is working in television again and has a new suspense or horror film ALYCE real soon now, says IMDb. Another good, striking actress.
Strong and sexy.
"You can't handle the truth!" A now iconic scene in modern cinema.
I have a feeling this would be better on stage. Very much a throw back to other military trial plays like THE CAINE MUTINY COURT MARTIAL. Courtroom stories do well on the stage -- a courtroom after all is really nothing more than a legal theater. The movie was all Nicholson for me. I remember nothing else but him.
You know, the darn movie took over. That's the trouble with movies--you have the closeups and the camera and it's hard to compete. Two character stories are better as plays though.
Cruise the Smirking Dwarf, yuck!
Patti, what role did Hulce play? Big fan since Amadeus.
He played the role Cruise played. Lieut. Dan Kaffee. Very good too. He was nominated for a Tony but lost.
Cruise is one of those love or hate guys. Especially since the couch jump, second divorce, and Scientology discussion.
I think he is a very skilled and talented actor. Cruise does not fit Jack Reachers physical description but is certainly capable of the acting job.
I used to think he was a very good actor but his personal life has gotten in the way. You are right.
I can't abide Cruise as a person or an actor. As Reacher, he'd be a joke. Like Alan Ladd playing Goliath. IMHO.
Certainly seems miscast but since I think he bought the film rights, what's a viewer to do.
Boycott the film. I will.
