Stevens seems to show up regularly. I have two of his earlier CDS and need to look for some newer ones.
my rotation at the moment consists of two Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Sky Is Crying and The Best of..., along with Les Baxter's Panic In Year Zero. I ripped them to my computer's music file so I could listen while working.
Don't know Baxter at all. Have to check him out.

Hard to beat Diana Krall.
You'll know at least some of Baxter, from all the films he's scored (though a lot of those were Roger Corman's less distinguished items).
I finally purchased my own copy of FRESH CREAM for a few bucks the other day.

I just downloaded a bunch of free songs from Amazon. Love "The Sweetest Thing" by JJ Grey & Mofro, "Teenage Heartbreak" by The Sorrows, "Meet Again" by Secret Twins, and "Young and In Love" by The Madison Square Gardeners.
I never knew there was free music to download. You guys are all too cool for me. Bessie Smith-love her.
My kids claim I never listen to any music created after 1987, which isn't exactly true, but the oldies do it for me every time. Right now I have Mary Hopkin's "Temma Harbour" on heavy rotation.
I'm listening to Bruno Mars' DOO-WOPS & HOOLIGANS. "Grenade" is amazing!
Especially hard to beat Diana Krall when Peter Erskine is behind the drums ... that man can play some drums.

Unless I'm missing something My Heart Cries For You goes back to the 1950s with singers such as Guy Mitchell, Dean Martin and Connie Francis. Elvis even had a version. What's the connection to Hair?
As for me I'm playing Jimmy Buffett, Gram Parsons, Asleep at the Wheel and Nancy Lamott.
They are both on that CD but I couldn't get a performance of her doing MY HEART CRIES FOR YOU. She does a dynamite job with it.

Kent, it's "Good Morning Star-shine" that's from Hair. I saw it at the Aquarius Theater in Hollywood on it's first run there. A vivid memory.
