Die a Little-UK

Excuse me for a little BDP here, but Megan's Edgar nominated first novel, Die a Little, debuts in paperback in the UK on August 4th. Hope some of you people over the pond will give it a read.

I can still remember reading it four years ago and thinking--could this possibly be my kid? Damn!

Richie Fahey does the covers for Megan's books. He's a wonder. So's what's inside. Thanks for noticing.

I'll bite. What does BDP mean?

Blatant Daughter Promotion.
not as bad as blatant self promotion but veering.

I also tear up when I read this author. I had the same thought when I read her too - is this my best friend? And then I get chills. And then I reread sentences over and over because they are so good.

I bet she tears up when she thinks of how successful you are too, Chris. And what a great mother even more.

Why did they change the background to an exterior shot?

And why the yellow font? The back is different too. I guess they wanted their own version.

I just looked at the cover again today and I realized that I've never really paid attention to the buildings in the background, because they were almost entirely cropped out.

The new font is all right for Superman and all wrong this book. Not to mention they lightened the whole picture, literally taking the noir out of it.

I prefer the original, there is more emotion and mystery behind it, especially as that cover encourages you to read more into the expressions on Lora and Alice's faces.

yeah-they had a different look to the promo material there too.
