Yikes. This trip has seemed a mixed bag, to say the least. Indeed, welcome back. Yours for a quick recovery from the vacation! (Having done entirely too much unenjoyable travel in my youth, I am a very muddy stick these years. My sister was recently surprised by how little international travel I've done, but her tech jobs have tended to be more lucrative than my editorial/admin jobs, and when I laid out How Things Went particularly before she was born, she gained perspective.)
I am very glad to know that you are back, but I am sorry that you had to go through all that to get home. It reminds me why I don't even consider flying anywhere.
We had that problem coming home from New Orleans in 2023. The airport shut down because of fog and we were stuck an extra night, on our own with no help from the airline.
If anyone wants to send some cooler air, send it my way here in Dallas, where they tell us we will be touching 100 all weekend. Way too early for this crap. I knew it was going to be a bad spring and summer when the June Bugs started showing up a week ago.
When I was a kid, they did not show up to mid May till the earliest. These days it is usually by mid April. A week ago they showed and I knew it was going to be bad.
Well, this world has continued through its billions of years without worrying too much about the life spread across its surface (and to some extent beneath)--not that it seems capable of worry nor care, even if that might be a minority opinion...humans will do what (particularly spoiled sociopathic humans in positions of privilege) will do, and I guess it's our job to keep them in whatever check we can. Have what fun with that as one can...

How frustrating. Welcome back, though, and I hope you get some rest.

Take care of yourself.
Welcome home. I blame Trump.

Hope it was a great trip otherwise.
It was a good trip except for the high temps and the flight home.
Very glad you are safely home.

There really should be something good in this sad old world. But I can't think of one.
Travel, especially Air Travel, is a horror show. Hope you get home safe and sound!
