This was certainly a moving experience with the kids (11-14) making their own speeches. The 100 adults surrounded 300 students and teachers. It put my book launch into perspective because this is the real future. Hopefully these kids will always have their priorities straight. And maybe teach their parents something.
The launch went well. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Of course, everyone was a friend of ours and felt obliged to show up,

I hope people really listen to, and take to heart, what these students are saying.
Participation in the School Walkout was spotty here. Some schools did it, others didn't.
We watched a lot of the coverage on MSNBC yesterday morning. I think these kids are mostly very articulate and are doing themselves proud.
Congrats to you on the book launch!
And congrats to the kids for showing the adults how to act responsibly by pushing for school safety and gun reform1
Some our teachers were nervous about this, worrying that it would make perfect targets of the kids to any sniper who might be hiding in the nearby woods.
Glad to know the launch went well. Sure wish I could have been there!
As much as I support the students and the cause, I'm sorely afraid the politicians in places where change could really happen will ignore the message and go along with their NRA and pro-gun pals and voters. I just don't understand why it should be so hard to simply ban assault weapons, period, enforce deep background checks, a two-week waiting period, and register and license all guns of any type into a national database. Maybe in 40 years when some of these kids are in office things could change, but that's way too long to wait.
Enjoyed your book launch. Glad their was a good turnout.
Hoping the kids keep it up, even extend it. Don't let it die down again. They are shockingly articulate. Until Betsy De Vos ruins the schools at least.
Thanks for coming, Steve. Nice to see you there.
We had some activity at Xavier as well
