Forgotten Movies: LIKE CRAZY

 Like Crazy

A British student ignores her student visa regulations when she falls in love with an American student one summer, and this precipitates a world of trouble for them both.

They can't seem to find long-term happiness with each other or with anyone else. They are locked in that summer romance, can't see past it.

There is scarcely a false note in this sad little Valentine. Every character is shown to their best advantage, including the parents and other lovers. How often does this happen?

Starring Anton Yelchin, Felicity Jones, Jennifer Lawrence, Charlie Bewley, Alex Kingston and Oliver Muirhead.

Directed by Drake Doremus, who seems to have come out of nowhere to do this great little movie.

Patti – This one flew right under my radar. Sounds like a good one. And with the summer blockbusters invading the theaters near us, it would be a pleasure to see a small film. Thanks.

1. It isn't on Netflix
2. FIOS has it On Demand for $3.95
3. My library has about 20 copies available, so reserved one

I'd certainly heard the title, but hadn't seen it...as the video notes, YouTube also also will formally rent you this one...a bit like what might happen if ENDLESS LOVE occurred when the principals were just a bit older...and almost an inversion of CATASTROPHE in a sense, as well. Even with my allergy to trailers, the film looks good (as I noted, irrelevantly, on Sergio's post for Overlooked this week, I saw the trailer for STRAIGHT ON TILL MORNING just before clicking over to his review of BLIND TERROR...the STRAIGHT trailer is perhaps the worst, definitely among the worst, traiers for a film (or at least a film with any potential) I've seen. Thanks, Patti.
