I haven't seen them all but would push Miller's Crossing and especially Barton Fink way down.
Fargo
Big Lebowski
Blood Simple
Raising Arizona
No Country for Old Men
Oops, I forgot True Grit.
Hudsucker is on my list of Worst. Movies. Ever.
Haven't seen most of em. Did like Blood Simple a lot, and True Grit was good.
And yet I am always meeting people who like HUDSUCKER. Never met anyone who could defend LADYKILLERS though.
FARGO and BARTON FINK are my favorites. The Coen brothers are hot and bold for me (although I definitely want to see HAIL CEASAR). I was glued to the screen with FARGO, but my eyes glazed over during BLOOD SIMPLE and HUDSUCKER.
Cold
Although BOLD might work too...
I've seen just two of them, of which I preferred NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN.
I like all of them except the final three. Have a feeling HAIL will fall well below the middle. The trailers look awful.
Does anyone not agree with you about The Lady Killers?
Oh, no doubt, Patti, Fargo is tops on my list of Coen brothers films. And I'm looking forward to Hail, Caesar.
I'm with Margot: FARGO is in a class by itself.
I'll be the first here and say that Hudsucker Proxy is actually my favorite. I've never gotten the hostility it's gotten, outside of the widespread assumption that financial failure equals artistic failure. In no particular order I'd round it out with Barton Fink, O Brother, Where Art Thou, Fargo, and A Serious Man.
Barton Fink, Fargo, Miller's Crossing, The Man Who Wasn't There, Blood Simple & No Country. Not in that particular order, and for very different reasons. Least favourite was probably Intolerable Cruelty.
