How often do you get to connect Detroit, Baltimore, Pies, Music, and the TV show Food Network Star but here it goes.
Ronald Henry, a cook and musician, founded Dangerously Delicious Pies in Baltimore ten years ago. The recipes for the savory and sweet pies came from his grandmother in Indiana. Selling the pies helped support his fledgling music career with the Glenmont Popes Band. Now the pies have taken precedence.
At some point he met up with Don Duprie in Detroit, also a musician and someone who had tasted and loved the pies. Duprie asked Henry for a franchise but Henry let him open the new shop in Midtown Detroit without fees.
The pies are to die for and reasonable priced. Originally housed in one location, they are now on the WSU campus. And as for the Food Netowork, Ronald Henry will compete on the Food Network star program beginning on June 2. Now you have someone to root for. And if you're in Detroit or Baltimore, try the pies.

Oh, they sound wonderful, Patti! Yumm
My nephew and his wife live in Baltimore and are well acquainted with DANGEROUSLY DELICIOUS PIES. Margot is right: yum!
I saw a story on one of the Food Channel shows about the Baltimore pie business and they looked amazingly good. Next time in Baltimore, I hope...

I haven't had a good pie in a long time. I need a blackberry cobbler.
I was unimpressed with him last night. He needs to lose the hat. I do like pie, wish I could eat it.
Best pies in the world!
We're closer to PA and we have a local place, Baughers, were we get our pumpkin pies. Sandra's favorite pie is strawberry rhubarb, which can be a bit tougher to find. DDP had one and I got one for her Christmas present. DDP has one called The Baltimore Bomb that is heart attach inducing.
