Sunday Night Poetry: William Wordsworth

This one has been running through my head for days.

I used to be able to recite this one. I can easily recall the first couplet and the final one. It's just the in-between that gives me trouble. I'll listen and see how close I can come.

Me too, Bill. But that was a long, long time ago.

Me, too but I was only able to do the first stanza now. The rest was bits and pieces. Do kids today memorize at all?

A favorite here as well, Patti.

I think my girls have to memorize a poem (of their choice) this year. When I was in high school, I had a teacher who urged us to memorize the first two lines of famous poems. "You'll get a reputation for being very clever," she assured us, "and no one will ever ask you for the next line."

Thank you, Mrs. Wages, wherever you are!
