Favorite TV of the Year-2019

I am probably mostly doing this for myself so I will have a record but anyway...Another observation, I am probably forgetting things I saw earlier in the year. Streaming really affects my memory adversely.

1. Succession (HBO)
2. The Crown (Netflix)
3. Unbelievable (Netflix)
4. Russian Doll (Netflix)
5. Fleabag (Amazon)
6. Better Things (FX)
7. Mindhunter (Netflix)
8. Schitt's Creek (Pop Sugar/Netflix)
9. Bodyguard (Netflix)
10Catastrophe (Amazon)

  1. I am way behind on TV watching. I have some of these DVRed. Hopefully over the Holidays, I can get caught up. Nice list!

  2. I'd put UNBELIEVABLE (and the British UNFORGOTTEN) on the list, along with RUSSIAN DOLL and CATASTROPHE and probably BODYGUARD. We just couldn't get into FLEABAG, though everyone else seems to love it, and I found the Atlanta stuff less interesting than the previous season on MINDHUNTER. I didn't try most of the others. Add WATCHMEN and the scary British YEARS AND YEARS and the fun WHAT WE DO IN THE DARK (a George Kelley recommendation). We've watched the first two episodes of CHERNOBYL and that might make it. Then there are the foreign language shows we watched this year, like SHTISEL (Israeli), that might not have been made this year.

  8. John Oliver is my favorite show. I loved that the climate change denying coal company President who sued Oliver for putting him on the show just had his company go bankrupt after paying himself $14 million a year and spending another $1 on climate change denying organizations. Can't wait to see how he covers this when he returns next year.

  9. Can't watch anything political. I feel too hopeless to sse any humor in it. That that man can outsmart all of the brilliant minds we have.

  10. I'm not sure it's the case that he's outsmarting anyone (except presumably his more cultish admirers), or it's at all reassuring that he's more a useful tool for the massed Armies of the Night, to borrow that phrase.

And that too much of his opposition shares too much of his agenda.
