  1. Patti, I am so sorry for your loss. You have been a blessing to Phil during this ordeal.

I am glad that your and your family have so many happy memories of him to help you get through this devastating time.

My thoughts and prayers are inadequate for this situation but they are there anyway.

  27. Patti: My sympathy to you and your family. Please let me give you a virtual hug. I have appreciated hugs at times of personal loss. They give to me a connection to the expression of sorrow.

I do not know if you are familiar with Sullivan Ballou's letter to his wife, Sarah, written just before the first Battle of Bull Run in the American Civil War. I have found it of comfort when dealing with loss - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VK1KcZoDu0.

  28. Philip Abbott’s great going at 74 seems not right. *He* had more to do. I will always remember the picnic Patti and Phil made for my young family many years ago now. It represented the kind of people they were together: open-hearted, generous, loving. My very sincerest sympathies to Patti, Megan, Joshua, and all who had the good fortune to have had a place in Philip Abbott’s heart.
