My favorite movies of 2007
Painted Veil
Volver
Zodiac
Lives of Others
First Snow
51 Birch Street
Away From Her
Once
Hairspray
3:10 to Yuma
Gone Baby Gone
Michael Clayton
No Country for Old Men
Starting Out in the Evening
Sweeney Todd
And I remember most of these pretty well. FIRST SNOW I will have to look up though. A decent if not outstanding year. The ones that stayed with me most are THE LIVES OF OTHER and ZODIAC.
Of the movies on your list, I've watched HAIRSPRAY the most. Love the songs and the energy!
ReplyDeleteI would say that the movies of 2007 are better than the movies of 2017.
Zodiac
ReplyDelete3:10 to Yuma-a remake superior to the original which started a block of wood named Glenn Ford.
No Country For Old Men
The Lives of Others
I doubt I'll re-watch ZODIAC but it was damn good.
ReplyDeleteI rewatched ZODIAC a few weeks ago and it was good. 3:10 to Yuma was also terrific.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think the movies then were much better. Today we just make movies about superheroes. All for the mass audience.
No Country for Old Men is the only one of them I saw, and I liked it a lot.
ReplyDeleteHi Patti
ReplyDeleteHere's my book for Bill Crider day: A Time for Hanging. Wonderful writing.

Thanks.
Pretty much all I remember of 2007 is Ratatouille and The Simpsons movie. But at least I went to see both of them in a theater. Something I don't think I did once this year, for a new release (I saw a Harold Lloyd silent with live accompaniment--if you do a best of 1928 piece, I'm there). Maybe I'll get in a few films over the hols.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I keep meaning to watch Hot Fuzz, the only one of the 'Cornetto' trilogy I haven't seen yet.
