  4. Elmer Bernstein (yes, Lenny's brother), the greatest movie soundtrack writer ever. I saw that because he could score anything, and not make it "sound like" Elmer Bernstein. Classical, jazzy, and--what I consider his tour de force--ANIMAL HOUSE, where he wove college-related music--including Brahms' Academic Festival Overture--into the soundtrack. He was brilliant.
