I just read the story by Shirley Jackson in THE NEW YORKER, "A Man in the Woods" and although it was a real treat, I am not sure I understood the ending. Anyone out there read it.
Also my review of FINDING VIVIAN MAIER is up on CRIMESPREE CINEMA. Mystery lovers should love it.
I really like Shirley Jackson's work, Patti, but must admit I've not read that one. Now you're making me curious.
ReplyDeletehum, been too long. I'd have to refresh my memory.
ReplyDeleteJust found a review of this story and a link to the story itself that might interest you, Patti.

Thanks, Sandra. I have been thinking about it a lot--maybe that's what Jackson wanted.
ReplyDeleteLike Margot, I enjoy Shirley Jackson's stories, but I haven't read this one either.
ReplyDeleteI have used 'The Lottery' in several school classes. It is such a pleasure to see their perplexed faces when they get to the end. "They did what???"
