Oh, that was a wretched show!

But in retrospect, it introduced us to a lot of future writers, actors, directors.

So did another wretched series from about the same era: Fantasy Island.

Patti's right. This one, Fantasy Island, Love Boat all introduced new actors, or gave other actors a chance to get a role in Also writers and directors. They were either fun, light or vapid, depending on your outlook and mood, but they were a good market for talent.

Oh, my gosh, I remember this show. OK, not a good one, but as you say, it introduced some fantastic people.

Hum, I kinda liked Love American Style. I know the stories were often silly but it was fun.

Well, HAPPY DAYS was spun off from it. HAPPY DAYS was a better series in its first season than it would ever be again, but there it is. I mostly enjoyed watching the repeats as a child, as ABC ran them in the afternoons after their own and against the other networks' soaps. A very few of the segments were particularly funny for me even then...however, it was the longest-running comedy/sitcom anthology in US broadcasting, iinm. Not that the competition for that is too fierce...I can at the moment think of only the variable GEORGE BURNS COMEDY WEEK on CBS and the excellent TRYING TIMES on PBS since.

"The series received several Emmy nominations, including two for Best Comedy Series for 1969–1970 and 1970–1971."

I think this says more about the Emmys than L,AS.
