That album cover probably sold as many LPs to guys in the '50s as the songs and singing did.

She was my father-in-law's dream girl (other than my mother-in-law, of course) and in later years he never missed an episode of Emergency.A philistine like me must admit my first exposure to this song was via Joe Cocker in 1970's Mad Dogs and Englishmen.
