Patti - Naomi Watts really does have talent; thanks for reminding me of that.

I wouldn't called MULLHOLLAND DRIVE "great" in any way. But then, as with most actors she's been in her share of crap, like I HEART HUCKABEES.

  3. You know I don't think I have ever seen THE INTERNATIONAL. Got to put that on the list. You gotta like David Lynch kookie to like MD. And sometimes I do.

  4. I didn't realize she was in all those. I thought she mostly acted in horror movies.

  5. She does that too. The only one I have seen is THE RING. No a horror movie fan.

  6. I second THE INTERNATIONAL and would add EASTERN PROMISES.

  7. Eastern Promises is the last one on there.

I've been thinking about it and while it is partly my fault - I haven't seen that many of her films - Naomi Watts has just not made a deep impression on me. Yes EASTERN PROMOSISES but what I remember from that is Viggo, not her.

As I said it is probably my problem.

  10. Wasn't she in KING KONG? She was good but Jessica Lange was way better.

  11. The Funny Games remake was pretty damn good.
Though of course, it is scarier in German.
    She is a fine actress.

She became an internationally acclaimed actress because of "Mulholland Drive". "I Heart Huckabee's" was directed by David O'Russell whose name is now everywhere with his new film "SLP". Naomi Watts was the best thing in Huckabee's. Add "Mother and Child", "King Kong", "Fair Game" and "Funny Game". Even "Ellie Parker", "The ring" and "The Ring 2" are greatvbecause of her presence.

  14. I would certainly add FLIRTING, which was also an early milestone for Thandie Newton and Nicole Kidman...I was not about to see the remake of FUNNY GAMES, since the original was such a self-satisfied insult to anyone who likes crime drama or fiction.

M DRIVE might the closest to linear any of the Lynch films I've seen has been, aside from DUNE...haven't seen THE STRAIGHT STORY yet.

  16. She's quite convincing as a loathsome, avaracious but also yearningly estranged wife in Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.

  17. Gee, her best role was as Jetgirl in the live action Tankgirl movie. ;)

  18. She was good in the WA movie. But I missed Tank Girl.
