One might almost suggest that it should be a Rodia Award in this case (who Joyce?), and that if Detroit upon return looked worse or even more run down than Tulsa...wow.
You don't have to. I saw Baltimore in the early '90s. HOMICIDE and THE WIRE didn't quite get at the utter desolation inland. We'd drive through what had been neighborhoods, now flattened as if by bunker-busters, and I said to Donna, Even the rats would have difficulty finding shelter here.
