A great performance, which inspired the Lambert, Hendricks and Ross vocal arrangement...the Gil Evans arrangement and the Miles Davis solo. But Davis was the darling of the sycophants, so he was credited for the record.
And still the worst person ever among major jazz artists.
I assume you know the Ella Fitzgerald/Louis Armstrong version as well as the L,H &R?
Summertime, in all its many versions, is easily one of the four or five greatest songs ever. And Miles' version is one of the best.

ReplyDeleteOh, Miles Davis is one of my favourite jazz artists! I think his Kind of Blue is a true jazz classic.
